Vintage Collectable DPW / BREITLING Swiss Movement Quartz Military Watch I am not an expert on watches, but from what I have read and learned about this watch is that it is highly collectable. These were issued to the NATO forces in Europe back in the 1980's. Each watch was customized for that specific country's military branch in NATO. The company DPW had the contract with NATO to supply the watches and they were ordered through Breitling. This is why you do not see anything on the outside that says Breitling. Breitling is only signed on the inside as you can see by the pictures. Working with fresh battery and in great condition for its age. Crystal has no scratches that I can see, the face and hands looks excellent, bezel easily turns and clicks as you turn it and only has a few minor nicks, screw down crown is a bit worn but works as it should and the band is rubber and fits perfectly, appears to be original (signed Hong Kong). Front Face has a flag at the 12 o'clock that I cannot identify, a date at the 3 o'clock, and is signed at the 6 o'clock "Accademia Guardia Di Finanza" in Itailian which means Financial Police Academy in English. The face also has "Swiss Made" at the bottom. The outside back is "Swiss +Patent Registred Model 80210 M-2 Swiss Made Waterresistant Tested 20ATM Stainless Steel" "DPW" "Modello Militare, Distribuzione Unica FF.AA., No 102130 z" or in english "Military Model, Unique Distribution Armed Forces, No 102130 z. There are a few minor scratches on the back from normal wear. Inside back is signed "B" "Breitling, 89"

This is a fine example from the famous Swiss company LONGINES. This gorgeous timepiece features a metal dial that was professionally updated and is executed in a military style. This black dial features a 60 minute outer track border with red numbering, yellow clear Arabic numerals, steel hands and a slightly sunken sub-second’s dial. The dial is signed ‘LONGINES’. This model of timepiece has a three-piece case. The winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly. The watch is mechanical. The branded original movement with genuine jewels is in a good status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. The movement has serial number #5.571.667. The serial number on the movement places the date of production of this piece at 1937. The factory LONGINES afforded to produce only expensive and high-quality equipment, and the mechanisms in their watches were high-class and thought over to trifles, therefore they were kept in perfect condition until now. This watch was remade for use as a wristwatch. The pocket watches were not practical in combat. Not to lose the watch out of a usual pocket, the military men have started to weld on the case the second ring or to do two wire lugs and to pass through them a band, for use as a wristwatch. The watch is fitted on a new 20 mm black genuine high-quality leather strap with chrome steel buckle. The beautiful strap that is stitched by white threads is military style and goes very well with this wonderful watch. It was made by “Omega Factory” in 1927. The watches under the trade mark 'OMEGA’ always differed by style, accuracy and fidelity to the best traditions of watch affair. This unique timepiece features an ORIGINAL porcelain enamel dial that was professionally restored and now is in excellent condition. Over an original dial the layer of resistant black printing was piled up. This specimen is executed in a military style and is stylized as the watch of the Luftwaffe. It is an early variant of the big navigation watch of the Luftwaffe with hour angle indication, featuring a 60 minute checkered outer track border with numbering, Breguet-style hands, easily readable Arabic numerals and a sub-second’s dial. The original dial is signed ‘OMEGA’ with trademark Omega symbol above this. This model of OMEGA watch has a four-piece, double hinged case that was made especially for military watch to protect the mechanism from dust and debris and to provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. The inside of back lid has the old trademark Omega symbol and the inscription ‘OMEGA –SWISS MADE – FABRICATION SUISSE’ and case reference number #7.335.841.
